This post is all about how to create Spring DIY Flower Frames.
I love finding projects that are budget friendly and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. So when I was looking for something to do, to get my mind out of the gloomy weather situation, I rememberd that I had a couple of frames lying about.
There are three things you need for this project: Dried flowers, photo frames and a hot glue gun. I always dry my bouquets upside down once they’re served their purpose. So I had plenty to choose from. I also already had some I purchased for my art journaling hobby.
I bought the photo frames at Ikea when they were on discount for .50ยข each. I knew that I would want to craft with them one day.
When glueing the flowers onto the photo frame, make sure to steer clear from the actual border of the frame. Glue the tallest pieces first and the short ones towards the lower front. This create a sort of landscape effect. Once you’ve got into the flow of things, the process goes smoothly and quickly.
After the flowers have been glued on and you are happy with the results, all that’s left is to put it up on the wall. Another good idea would be to create several of these to make a flower wall for spring if you have the space.
Spring Fairy Garden
Equipment
- Ikea Crockery Organiser . I had an older one that I used to add height.
- Empty Planters and pots . These can be used to create height. Add plants on top.
- Lots of creeper plants like Ivy
- Flowering plants that had droopy leaves and vines.
- Small ceramic bowls . These were pretend bathtubs
- Garden birdbath
- Old pieces of wood to act like bridges
- A giant mushroom sculpture to add wonder.
Materials
- Miniature fairies. You can re use older frames.
- Ceramic gnomes
- Mushroom houses
- Miniature furniture from my kids dollhouses. (Some were bought)
- Miniature cooking and grocery items. Some were bought at a local craft store
- Decorative ceramic coasters. (Used to make pretty floors)
- Miniature animals
- Any small accessories that would add to a 'tea party' vibe.
