Here are some fun facts about cows that you can share with your kids!
- Firstly, a baby cow is called a calf. The word “calf” is also used for the young of several other large mammals.
- Secondly, Cows have one stomach with four compartments. These compartments help them digest tough foods such as grass and hay.
- Additionally, Cows chew their food twice. They bring partly digested food, called cud, back into their mouths and chew it again.
- Fourthly, Cows can see almost all the way around themselves. Their wide field of vision lets them see in every direction except directly behind them.
- Finally, Cows are social animals. They enjoy being with other animals and usually feel comfortable when they have a familiar daily routine.

How to Download the Cow Colouring Pages
Firstly, choose the cow picture that you would like to colour. Next, select the download button beneath the image.
Open the downloaded file and print it on A4 paper. Standard printer paper works well with crayons and colouring pencils.
However, slightly thicker paper may be better for felt-tip pens or paint. Before printing, check that your printer is set to the correct paper size. Select ‘fit to page’ if part of the design is missing.

Creative Ways to Use These Cow Printables
These free pages can become part of several fun farm activities.
For example, children could cut out their finished cows and place them on a homemade farm background. They could then add a barn, tractor, trees, fences and fields.
Alternatively, children could give each cow a name. Afterwards, encourage them to invent a short story about the cow’s adventures on the farm.
Another idea is to turn the pages into a colouring book. Simply print several designs, add a cover and staple the pages together.
Finally, you can laminate a favourite picture. As a result, your child can colour it again with suitable washable or dry-wipe pens.
