Here are some fun facts about otters that you can share with your kids!

1. Firstly, there are 13 species of otter. The Asian small-clawed otter is the smallest and weighs less than 4.5 kilograms.
2. Secondly, some otters have a favourite rock. They may keep it in a small pocket of loose skin beneath their arm to use or play with later. 
3. Additionally, river otters have a third eyelid. This clear eyelid protects their eyes and helps them see while swimming underwater. 
4. Fourthly, Sea otters eat a lot of food. They may eat around one-quarter of their body weight each day to help them stay warm.
5. Finally, Otter fur can be waterproof. North American river otters produce oil that coats their fur and helps keep water away from their skin.

Creative Ways to Use These Otter Printables

Open the downloaded file and print it on A4 paper. Standard printer paper works well with crayons and colouring pencils.

However, slightly thicker paper may be better for felt-tip pens or paint. Before printing, check that your printer is set to the correct paper size. Select ‘fit to page’ if part of the design is missing.
