Frogs are fascinating animals with large eyes, powerful legs and distinctive calls. Therefore, they make especially fun characters for colouring activities.

Moreover, children can use realistic shades of green, brown, yellow or grey. Alternatively, they could create pink, blue, purple or rainbow-coloured frogs.

Furthermore, you can print one page for a quick activity or download the complete collection. You could also place several pictures in a folder to create a homemade frog colouring book.

Here are some fun facts about frogs that you can share with your kids!

  1. Firstly, Frogs lived alongside dinosaurs. Frogs have existed for more than 200 million years.
  2. Secondly, some frogs are super jumpers. Many frogs can leap more than 20 times their own body length.
  3. Additionally, Frogs use their eyes to help them swallow. Their eyes move downwards and help push food into their throats.
  4. Fourthly, Frogs can drink and breathe through their skin. Their thin, moist skin absorbs water and allows oxygen to pass through.
  5. Finally, baby frogs are called tadpoles. As they grow, tadpoles develop legs and lungs while their tails gradually disappear.

How to Download the Frog Colouring Pages

Firstly, choose the frog picture that you would like to colour. Next, select the download button beneath the image.

Open the downloaded file and print it on A4 paper. Standard printer paper works well with crayons and colouring pencils.

However, slightly thicker paper may be better for felt-tip pens or paint. Before printing, check that your printer is set to the correct paper size. Select ‘fit to page’ if part of the design is missing.

Creative Ways to Use These Frog Printables

These free pages can become part of several fun frog activities.

For example, children could cut out their finished frogs and place them on a homemade pond background. They could then add water lilies, reeds, dragonflies, fish and fluffy clouds.

Alternatively, children could give each frog a name. Afterwards, encourage them to invent a short story about the frog’s pond adventures.

Another idea is to turn the pages into a colouring book. Simply print several designs, add a cover and staple the pages together.

Finally, you can laminate a favourite picture. As a result, your child can colour it again with suitable washable or dry-wipe pens.
